Appearance[]
Tobimori is an adult male, having a huge figure of 184 cm tall. His hair, along with the fur of his wolf-like ears, are all dark blue in hue. The insides of his ears are coloured white. His eyes are heterochromatic; with the right eye being red, and the left eye being blue. His pupils are shaped as white + signs.
He is adorned with a form of thick, fluffy traditional garment with ornate designs and patterns that has the color scheme of red, blue, and yellow. His attire consists of a headband with silver coins attached to it, a tunic with long wide sleeve and a fluffy end, a mantle with a hood, and a baggy pants that reach his calves. White bandages are covering his legs. He also wears brown gloves and shoes. Underneath his tunic appears to be a tight dark blue clothing according to the most recent artwork.
Background[]
Described as “A guardian who protects the door of the story.” Tobimori is an amazing person who has seen countless lives and deaths of travellers. He is known to be powerful because he masters various treasures and magic. Treasures he can use includes, but not limited to a key, a dagger, a gun, and a scythe.
Tobimori uses “Watashi” (私) when referring to himself. He speaks in formal language because he usually takes a neutral standpoint when interacting with people.
Tobimori is a tidy person, as he always keep his headband clean. He also doesn't use the hood on his mantle that often because it will mess his hair. He use the silver coins attached to his headband as a donation for those in need, making him a generous person as well.
Although he might occasionally eat a bit of snacks, turns out Tobimori doesn’t really need to eat; he doesn't take the nutrition that way. Therefore, he has no favourite food in particular.
Trivia/Headcanon[]
- Tobimori (扉守り) actually reads Tobira Mori, meaning The Door Guardian. Ryuuseee gave him that name because he thought Tobimori has the image of someone who would guard a door.
- Though official, the name refers more to his title than his actual name. English-speaking fanbase prefers to call him Tobimori instead.
- Ryuuseee wrote that the red part of his clothing symbolises the past while the blue part symbolises the future.
- Japanese fanbase speculate that Tobimori can also see the past using his red eye and the future using his blue eye.
- Ryuuseee wrote in his tweet that everytime he starved for new Twisted Wonderland artworks, he thought “Then it must’ve feel like an imprisonment for someone who likes a character that only appear once in the MV and barely drawn again….” it becomes the reason why he finally drawn Tobimori again after ten years. On the next tweet, he also thank people who watched the MV and told him that they like Tobimori. After all, he wants to be an official person who properly supply artworks.
- He even broadcasted the drawing process on 4 June 2022 for the sketch and lineart, and 25 June 2022 for the colouring and finishing.
- During the colouring livestream, a foreigner asked about Tobimori’s height and favourite food. Ryuuseee then thought about it for a while and decided that Tobimori is 184 cm tall. This caused quite a shock among Japanese fanbase because they initially guessed that Tobimori has a petite figure.
- He also answered that Tobimori has no favourite food in particular as he doesn't really need to eat; he doesn't take the nutrition that way. However, he might eat a bit of snacks once in a while.
- Tobimori likes to drink and enjoys drinking omiki (an offering of sake or other alcoholic drinks offered to the gods).
- An anonymous asked Ryuuseee via Marshmallow "If the characters that you made for Neru-san got stranded all alone in an uninhabited island, what will they do?" and as for Tobimori, Ryuuseee answered "He made the island."
- There is a theory which said that Tanaka and Yamaguchi could be experimented on in order to recreate a powerful being like Tobimori.
